Course objectives
The course of lectures concentrates on summary the problems of an auxiliary linguistic discipline - phonetics. Its aim is to help students see the importance od phonetics for the understanding of language, to clarify the meaning of commonly used terms, and to interpretaation of scientific information.

  • III. Phonetic transcription, ist principles and types.
  • IV. Metods of phonetic analysis of speech.
  • V. The biological basis of speech.
  • VI. Articulation; place and aspect of articulation; articulatory co-ordination and phonetic settings.
  • VII. Vocoid segments. Vocoid articulation.
  • VIII. Consonants; consonants system.
  • IX. Acoustic level of speech.
  • X. The prosodic organisation of speech.
  • XI. The metrical and temporal organisation of speech.
  • XII. Intersegmental articulatory co-ordination.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Od podzimu 2004 se předmět osamostatňuje. Kombinuje výklad přednášející s referáty studentů a jejich prací s texty. Zkouška se skládá z části písemné a ústní. Písemná část prověřuje znalost pojmosloví, ústní ověřuje schopnost studenta využít znalostí v práci s jazykovým materiálem. Základní informace o písemné části zkoušky budou vloženy v průběhu podzimního semestru 2004 na www stránku vyučující. Skriptum je k dispozici v aplikaci ISu Student - Studijní materiály pod kódovým číslem předmětu; materiály jsou přístupné jen zapsaným studentům. V oprůběhu podzimu budou materiály zpřístupněny i aplikací e-learningu.
