Course objectives
This seminar is offered by Ms.Erika Drucker, who has wide-ranging experience in dealing with translations into English. She has worked for(amongs others)the United Nations, both as an active translator and reviser.
Syllabus
  • The seminar will focus on translation of government and other official documents as well as scientific texts and on on examination of particular translation problems in certain specialized areas, such as clinical and pharmaceutical medicine, public health (including water and sanitation), social development issues (refugee matters, poverty, minorities, human rights), environmental issues, climate change. It is recommended for students with outstanding English language skills. A more specific outline will be provided at a later date. To complete the course successfully the student must not only meet the set deadlines for submitting the translations but also supply translations of acceptable quality.
