- Course objectives
- Advanced practical course from the field of technology, processing, and identification of metals.
- Syllabus
- 1. Materiological examination of metals (X-ray methods,gamagraphy, supersound, etc.).
- 2. Study of corrosion products (X-ray diffraction, polarizing microscopy).
- 3. Structure study of historical metalic materials (metallography, microhardness and macrohardness proofs)
- 4. Structure study of historical metalic materials (electron microscopy).
- 5. Determination of corrosion velocity.
- 6. Electrochemical investigation of corrosion.
- 7. Glass silvering.
- 8. Preparation of the niello mixture; preparation of liver of sulfur patinating.
- 9. Phase equilibria of multiphase systems.
- 10. Chemico-thermic material treastment.
- 11. Metal casting technology, fabrication of simple casting form from sandstone or clay (foundry in Technical Museum Brno)
