- Course objectives
- System and evolution of plants is one of the introductory disciplines of biological study. The subject is intended for students of systematic biology and education. The lab is an integral part of the lectures and is intended to supplement knowledge gained from study with concrete images of live or preserved model plants. Annotated sketches of the observed models are prepared. Emphasis is on comparative morphology, especially in the case of the angiosperm families where a single "model species" is presented.
- Syllabus
- 1. a 2: Morphology of plant organs: root, stem, leaf, flower (+ types of pollination), fruit, spreading of diaspores; 3. Bryophyta; 4. Lycopodiophyta; 5. Psilotophyta a Equisetophyta; 5. Polypodiophyta 6. Gymnosperms 1: Cycadophyta a Pinophyta (Gingkoopsida); 7. Gymnosperms 2: Pinophyta (Pinopsida), Gnetophyta; 8-14. Selected important families of Angiosperms (depending on phenology).
