- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to aquaint with and practise academic English in biological context at B1 level according to CEFR, prepare to the exam in English for Specific Purposes (JA001), and to practise academic skills in the target language.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing this course the student will be able to:
generate a formal letter in an academic context
understand authentic biological texts/lectures
identify and formulate the main ideas
interpret the information
discuss general and biological topics
present simple biological topics using basic presentation techniques
summarize a simple biological text

- foreign language course; text analysis, listening comprehension, discussion (in pairs, groups, plenary) presentations using basic presentation techniques; blended learning (interactive materials in IS MU, dril in IS MU)

- Each course is concluded with a credit test - the passing grade is 60%. 80% attendance in seminars is required.
