- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand and explain the basics and principles of neurology;
- work with information on the neurological examination to create the symptoms, syndromes of the neurological disorders;
- make reasoned decisions about the topical diagnosis and differential diagnosis based on the symptomatology;
- make deductions based on acquired knowledge in the field of neurology;
-interpret paraclinical examinations. - Learning outcomes

- Syllabus
- Neurological syndromology and neurological evaluation. The practical lectures in the lecture hall and bedside examination of the patients. Neurological history taking. Reflexology. Palsies, pyramidal signs, cranial nerves examination. Sensitivity and its affections, extrapyramidal and cerebellar signs. Spine examination. Disorders of the stance and walking. Meningeal syndrome. Uncousciousness. Classified credit (practical exam with written neurological examation of the patient).

- he course takes place in one of the following neurological clinics according to the timetable: - Neurological Clinic of the Brno University Hospital (FN Brno) - 1st Department of Neurology of the St. Anne's University Hospital (FN USA) The course starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. every day. At the beginning of the first day of the course, the students come to the secretariat of the respective department: - NK FN Brno, Jihlavská 20, 12th floor of the main building (L), Mrs. Saláková (53223 2503) - NK FN USA, Pekařská 53, building C1, 6th floor, Mrs. Aberlová (54318 2658). On the first day of the course, an introduction to neurological propedeutics and neurological examination will be given and practiced. The rest of the course consists of a clinical part and focused workshops with specialists in particular fields of neurology. WE WISH TO REMIND STUDENTS THAT THE TIMETABLE OF THE COURSE CAN'T BE CHANGED (except for some very serious reasons - stay abroad, long-term illness).
