Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
- the students will learn to use basic chemical knowledge in practice
- the students will be able to explain exploitation of chemical compounds and chemical reactions in daily life
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course the student will gain:
 knowledge of modern methods of chemical analysis and their applicationse
 Comprehensive overview of the content of the course
Syllabus
  • - Chosen optical and electrochemical methods
  • - Chosen chapters from applied chemistry (reading and analysis of chosen chapters from popular science literature with emphasis on chemical, physical, medical, ecological, subject-historical issues)
  • - examples of issues: history and present - mining and processing of metals, plastics, rubber, vitamins, food chemistry, energy production, lighting, prevention of the spread of infectious diseases, ...
