- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the student will be able to:
(1) understand and explain keywords: Basic conditions of life, environment, sustainable living and development in education for 21 Century. Project "Biology for life and health" and basic education in the CR. Biotope school garden with the biological economy - educational environment for experiential learning. Pedological, meteorological, phenological observations and model indoor plants for environmental education. Biotechnology, bio-food, genetically modified organisms - healthy nature and human health;
(2) use basic information about the changing conditions of life on Earth to understand the growing model of house plants for health;
(3 reate a group project "Brno and its surroundings", seminar group work "Phenological and meteorological calendar", personal portfolio of work;
(4) provide reasonable (of reasoned thought, rational) decisions in defense of group work;
(5) based on the acquired knowledge to derive the unknown relation to the understanding of patterns the existence of life on Earth and the importance of knowledge for life and human health, nature and society and for basic education and practical application in personal life;
The subject is a part of program “Biology for life and health” which is a section of research intention PdF MU “School and Health for 21. Century”. The realization of the subject takes place in an educational center specialized on Sustainable life called “Kejbaly” and in selected envirocentrs.
The aim is personal development of a student-assistant teacher, knowledge base of teaching and professional knowledge formation according School Educational Program for Basic Education. The subject contains practical lessons focused on Learning by Doing which are realized as field lessons. It means training of skills, strengthen teacher’s knowledge and creating teacher’s attitudes important to be able to help develop key competences and scientific literacy to scholars according Frame Educational Program for Basic Education. The practical tuitions are intent on integration, activating methods, forms and agents in education mainly for the fields Human and Nature, Human and a World of Work (growing and breeding), Human and Health and cross-section environmental topics. In this subject focused on environmental friendly management, is practically trained as well as knowledge in context or role of teacher in basic education in mentioned study fields. - Syllabus
- 1 Introduction to the course - the "Biology for life and health.
- 2, Safety and order in the specialized education and training center for sustainable living, development and health "Kejbaly.
- 3, Education for Health (or my living and study environment PdF MU Brno) - observing, practicing and integrating the basic concepts of the conditions of life field near Brno. Practical solutions to challenges in groups to block 1.terénním exercises (examples of varying environments, methods, forms, funds for enviro. Studies: where, with whom and how to study). Group Final Report: "Brno and its surroundings".
- 4, Environment, abiotic and biotic conditions of life - relationships in nature and human influence: regional monitoring changes in the nature of relationships human activities: biotope garden - autumn, winter.
- 5.Abiotické conditions of life, energy flow and human impact: observation and measurement, soil, phenological and meteorological observation - discussion. Group term paper on your computer: Weather-phenological calendar (region "Brno and surroundings") - the basis of a personal calendar of nature.

- 7, Creation, monitoring and evaluation enviropokusů: basic conditions of life cycle of substances in nature, growing house plants.
- 8 Why integration: biodiversity management and health, teaching natural history, cultivation and breeding of the elementary school.
