Course objectives
A continuation to the Historical Development of Italian I, focused on the developments of the linguistic situation in Italy from the early 13th century; analysis of texts from the 13th to the 16th century.
Syllabus
  • Phonetic, morphological, syntactic and semantic changes from the early 13th century; previous stages of development compared to modern usage; major efforts in establishing norms in Italian.
