- Course objectives
- This course is practical reading and translating class. Students are given texts in written Chinese (shumian yu) and provided with basic vocabulary. Students have to prepare for the class in advance. The topics are various, raging from news from the media to academic writings.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to apply the acquired knowledge when reading advanced texts in written Chinese; emphasis will be put on ellucidating of sentence structure and gradual building of students' vocabulary, incl "chengyu".
