Course objectives
The aim of this course is to acquaint the students with the Italian morphological system, in particular with the articles, nouns, adjectives and pronouns. They will learn how to identify these lexical classes, will know their characteristics and use in the practical language.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to understand the main semantic and morphosyntactic characteristics related to nouns, articles, adjectives and pronouns, and will be able to apply this knowledge both to the practical use of the Italian language as well as to its theoretical description.

  • - Nouns - Gender and number of nouns - Definiteness: defined/indefinite article, partitive (forms and functions) - Adjectives: general characteristics, classification - Agreement - Gradability - Pronouns: characteristics and types - Word formation rules: derivation and composition
