Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: identify common species of invertebrates and vertebrates under natural conditions; explain diagnostic characters of dominant species and their immature stages; classify selected species into system.

Syllabus
  • Field practice in different ecosystems, terrestrial and aquatic fauna, species confined to soil, standing and running waters, vegetation and special ecosystems. Organisation of species into communities, interspecific relations.

Teacher's information
The examination consists of three parts - terrestrial invertebrates, aquatic invertebrates and vertebrates - and it takes place on the afternoon of the fourth day of field practice. If one of these parts is not passed, students have the opportunity to retake it the next day in the morning (the day of departure).
