Course objectives
The course is part of a complex mandatory items from   clinical nursing.Course builds on the knowledge of   Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Pediatrics.The course is focused on providing basic nursing care in a different period of childhood  . Acquaints students with the     healthy and taking care of a sick child with   regard to his individual needs according to the degree of psychomotor development.This course is designed as a theoretical and practical. Takes place in the training classroom.  The goal of nursing care in Pediatrics is familiarising students with the therapeutic and preventive issues   care in health and disease.The emphasis is on obtaining medical histories and basic examination of children of all ages. Provides basic information about the treatment and examination of children   with   a selected issue.The structure of the teaching of clinical conditions: 1. Part of the medical: diseases of etiology, Symptomatology, diagnostic and therapeutic postupy2. Part of Nursing: realization of the method of the nursing process in selected clinical situations.  The main objective: • to familiarize students with the     healthy child care   primary system (community) care; • to understand the differences in the care of the child in   the   primary, secondary and tertiary prevention; • to develop methods for assessment of the child's health and psychosocial causes of affecting the healthy development of the child; • know standard diagnostic-therapeutic procedures and interventions at the individual clinical conditions;   • meet   causes and special manifestations of acute States; • getting deployed nursing care aimed at children's age; • to understand the particularities of children's age, acquiring the basics of care     the child in different age periods; • apply basic and special nursing care about   child in health and disease by the method of the nursing process
Learning outcomes
The Student will after completing the course: - establishes the characteristics of the development of the child according to age - determine the basic needs of the child and establishes a procedure for the implementation of - become familiar with selected childhood diseases - knows the principles of communication with children and parents - applied knowledge in practice
