Course objectives
To introduce students with - the factors affecting laboratory test results and their interpretation - principles of proper collection and processing of biological material - the evaluation of the validity of laboratory tests - laboratory diagnosis of selected diseases.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
purposefully indicate laboratory biochemical tests
correctly interpret laboratory results
evaluate laboratory tests with regard to their sensitivity and specificity, and predictive value
use knowledge of the uncertainty of the evaluated parameter
to focus on possible pre-analytical influences and interferences
