Textbook "Morphology of the Russian language 1: nouns, adjectives, pronouns" is intended for all students of the Masaryk University, as well as for those who are interested in the Russian language and want to improve their level of Russian grammar. The textbook contains theoretical information covering individual grammatical topics and practical tasks. The textbook also includes hypertext links to theoretical sources in Russian and linguistic tools (language corpora, information portals, electronic dictionaries) that allow you to work independently with texts in Russian.
The theory is presented in three language versions: Russian, Czech and English, thanks to which users with different levels of Russian (A1 – C1+), and also those whose language of communication is English, can work with the textbook. Grammatical phenomena are explained from a contrasting point of view, that is, by comparing Russian and Czech languages, either Russian or English. This approach significantly broadens the direction of the textbook: the textbook "Morphology of the Russian language 1: nouns, adjectives, pronouns" is not just a description of the grammar of a particular language (Russian), but rather indicates the development trends of the contemporary Russian language in comparison with other languages, and also offers basic information about the historical development of the Russian language, necessary for understanding certain grammatical phenomena or changes.
All tasks listed in the textbook are divided into two groups: tasks basic (basic type), which are indicated by the figures (1, 2, 3, etc.), and tasks for independent work (increased complexity), which are indicated by a number and an asterisk (6 *, 7 *, 8 *, etc.) - this is the so-called tasks with an asterisk. To the tasks of the basic type, a key is provided with a detailed explanation of the specific changes. Assignments with an asterisk assume work with language corpora, printed and electronic dictionaries or information portals, in the performance of these tasks it is necessary to reflect analytically on the grammatical phenomena occurring in contemporary Russian language, and also to work with extralinguistic sources, for example, videos and songs. Some tasks that are presented in an interactive form help to develop various types of competences and skills: the competence of the studying, the competence of solving problems, the working skills, the social and personal competences.
Among other things, the textbook acquaints the user with linguistic terminology, scientific works, in which the topic or a grammatical phenomenon is understood / explained. At the end of each chapter, a list of used literature and online sources is provided.
The last chapter of the textbook contains tasks for revision the themes "Nouns", "Adjectives" and "Pronouns".
Textbook "Morphology of the Russian language 1: nouns, adjectives, pronouns" appeared in the framework of the project of the Development Fund of the Masaryk University "Practical morphology of the Russian language (review and tasks)" (Praktická morfologie ruského jazyka (přehled a cvičení), MUNI/FR/0975/2016).
