Course objectives
The main goal of this course is to provide basic knowledge in Physical therapy and its usage in prevention, examination and therapy of musculoskeletal and nervous system influencing all parts of human existence as a part of comprehensive rehabilitation.
It´s important to meet a student with general principles of individual physical therapy parts, physiological or patophysiological organism response on their application and with possibilities of electrotherapy.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- identify and summarize the importance of physical therapy and its role in the development of a short-term rehabilitation plan;
- identify and describe indications and contraindications of mechanotherapeutic, thermotherapeutic, hydrotherapeutic, phototherapeutic and electrotherapeutic physical therapy procedures;
- design and explain the aim of the therapy and with regard to it choose the most appropriate procedure or their combination, including the setting of individual parameters.
