Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: - understand and to interpret organism phylogenesis patterns - interpret and to illustrate separate periods of human ontogeny - interpret the laws of human growth and development - alert to the dangers of mutagens, teratogens and carcinogens - interpet adaptability and variability of human structure (physical, behavioural, sociocultural) in the past and today
Syllabus
  • Phylogenesis/ontogenesis concepts, basic relations asserting in Homo sapiens recent (H. s. r.) evolution and in ontogenesis of an individual being. Ernest Haeckel’s basic law of biogenetics. Races, racism. 4. Prenatal period (gametogenesis, blastogenesis, organogenesis, fertilization, preembryo, embryo). 5. Embryopathy. Mutagens, teratogens, carcinogens. 6. Prenatal period (fetus, fetopathy). 7. Perinatal period. Childbirth. 8. Infant – characteristics – premature, postmature, full term newborns. 9. Infant period, toddler period. 10. Prepubescence. 11. If he/she answers 50 questions correctly, they pass the test. After evaluation, a discusion follows in which the correct answers of previously asked questions are repeated abd explained again. b) theoretical part - a student answers and explains two teoretical topics from human ontohenesis and phylogenesis.
