- Course objectives
- After completing this course the student will be able to:
understand authentic texts/lectures on Earth Science
identify the main ideas
formulate the main ideas
summarize a scientific/geologic text
interpret the information from the text/lecture
identify causes and effects
use terminology of the course topics
define the terms of the course topics
compare and contrast using the proper terminology and academic vocabulary
present the topics of the course using basic presentation techniques
discuss one´s study plans
apply acquired skills in academic English to new topics - Syllabus
- Syllabus of the course: geographical topics (see the list), pretesting updated tests (last or last but one week of the course).It is not necessary to pass the test but writing the test is a necessary condition for completing the course.
