- Course objectives
- After completing this course the student will be able to:
understand adapted authentic texts/lectures on Earth science corresponding to their level
identify the main ideas
formulate the main ideas
summarize a scientific/geographical text
interpret the information from the text/lecture
identify causes and effects
use terminology of the course topics
define the terms of the course topics
compare and contrast using the proper terminology and academic vocabulary
present the topics of the course using basic presentation techniques
discuss one´s study plans
apply acquired skills to new topics - Learning outcomes
- After completing this course the student will be able to:

- specialist language course: text analysis reading/listening comprehension exercises pronunciation and grammar exercises field and academic vocabulary exercises presentations using basic presentation technique and discussion terminology, useful vocabulary and definitions support
- Assessment methods
- 80% active attendance in the seminars
completing tasks, e.g. presenting a poster at a class conference, watching a video and writing a log about it, writing a formal email, writing an annotation, reading specialised articles and creating a quiz. - Language of instruction
