- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- At the end of this course, students should be able to: work with light microscope, aware of the specialized microscopy techniques used in zoology (dark field, phase contrast, differential interference contrast, fluorescence, confocal microscopy, measuring, photomicrograph, drawing), prepare basic types of microscope slides (fixation, staining, mounting in the media, histological slides).
- Syllabus
- Light microscopy - dark field, phase contrast, differential interference contrast, fluorescence, confocal microscopy, measurement methods, photomicrography, drawing. Basic zoological techniques - nativ slides, vital staining (neutral red, Congo red, Methylene green, Janus green B). Permanent slides, framing, fixation, Carmine and hematoxylin staining; glycerol, glycerol jelly, Liquido-Faure, PVA; resinous media - canada balsam. Histological slides - embedding, cutting and staining.
